A 17-YEAR-OLD boy is in hospital with "life-threatening" injuries after a car crashed into a tree.
Greater Manchester Police officers were called at 2.50pm on Thursday, February 16 following reports that a car struck the tree on Winstanley Road, between Billinge and Garswood.
Police say it is believed that a red Ford Fiesta was travelling in a southerly direction along Winstanley Road when it lost control.
Emergency services attended the scene and a 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl were taken to hospital, with the boy having "sustained life-threatening injuries".
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident or the vehicle in question prior to the collision, to get in touch.
Appeal for information
A police statement read: "Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV/doorbell footage from the area in the moments leading up to and before the collision took place.
"Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 1949 of 16/02/2023.
"Alternatively, details can be passed via the LiveChat function at www.gmp.police.uk or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
