TWO teenagers have appeared in court charged with the murder of 16-year-old trans girl, Brianna Ghey.
A 15-year-old girl from Warrington and 15-year-old boy from Leigh, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday.
They did not enter a plea and only spoke to confirm their names and appeared separately in the dock.
They have been remanded in youth detention.
The prosecutor described it as a 'pre-meditated, brutal and punishing attack'.
They will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court tomorrow, Thursday.
District Judge, Jack McGrava, appeared via video link.
Both were supported by their parents in court, and were flanked by one dock officer throughout the hearing.
Brianna, from Birchwood, died on Saturday, February 11.
Her body was found in Culcheth Linear Park, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
She had multiple stab wounds.
On Sunday evening, the police confirmed that two 15-year-olds had been arrested on suspicion of Brianna's murder.
Cheshire Police yesterday, Tuesday, announced that permission had been granted to hold the two 15-year-olds for an additional 30 hours in order to be questioned further.
