A CHINESE restaurant has been given a one-out-of-five food hygiene score in the latest round of inspections.
From a score of zero to five, food hygiene ratings are given to food handling businesses after an inspection has assessed how well they comply with food safety laws.
The rating reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of the inspection by the local authority.
In the latest round of inspections, the Food Standards Agency website shows that at least five food-handling businesses have been given new ratings in St Helens, which includes restaurants, takeaways, cafes, pubs, and convenience stores.
This includes a zero rating for a convenience store.

Four Seasons Superstore
In an inspection on January 4, Four Seasons Superstore received the lowest rating of zero-out-of-five in its food hygiene score.
The off licence, located on Bassenthwaite Avenue in Carr Mill, was found to need major improvements in its management of food safety and the cleanliness and condition of the building,
Improvements were also reported to be necessary in the businesses management of food safety.
Cheung Wah
Cheung Wah, a Chinese takeaway on Claughton Street in St Helens town centre was given a one-out-of-five food hygiene rating from its inspection on January 5.
The assessment found that major improvement is necessary for its hygienic food handling.
The cleanliness and condition of the building, as well as its management of food safety were also noted to need improvements.

Everydayz
Inspected on January 4, Everydayz convenience store received a one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
The cleanliness and condition of the building on Dalehead Place were rated as being generally satisfactory, as was the hygienic food handling.
However, major improvements were necessary for its management of food safety.
The Colliers Arms
The Colliers Arms on Pimbo Road, Kings Moss, was given a four-out-five food hygiene rating.
Inspected on January 5, the business' hygienic food handling and management of food safety were rated to be good.
The cleanliness and condition of the building were reported to be generally satisfactory.
The Butty Box
The Butty Box, a sandwich shop on Sandwash Close, Rainford, received a four-of-of-five rating after its inspection on January 5.
The business' hygienic food handling and management of food safety were rated to be good.
The cleanliness and condition of the building were reported to be generally satisfactory.
