SEVEN months on from a successful launch, The Coffee House in St Helens is a bustling town centre hub with the community at its heart.
The venue, which opened in May 2022, was met with scepticism as another coffee venue joined the St Helens high street.
However, just over half a year on and they have set themselves apart from the rest and we caught up with the store manager, Victoria Collier to find out why she thinks that is.
Victoria told the Star: “People questioned another coffee place opening, but with being a fully accessible place we have found that we have a loyal clientele and make sure to look after them.
“We’ve got regulars who come in and we know them by name, get their ‘usual’ drink and that makes them feel special and that’s important to us.
“As well as the regulars, we have a lot of college and university students who love our milkshakes and brownies, we found our accessible layout makes it really popular with parents with prams and people with mobility issues too which is lovely as we feel we are a home from home for people.
“I have to say as well as the customers, our staff makes the biggest difference and are the key to the success. We were the eighth store opened in the North West and more have opened since.
“With the regeneration plans in place there is decreased footfall at the moment but we aren’t worried, you can’t get a seat in here until 2.30pm most days, and on Saturday it's all day.
“Once the plans go ahead it’s going to get even busier and it’s very exciting.”
