A MUM'S hobby that turned into a part-time business was given a shout-out by Johnny Vegas following his viral tweet from Crosby beach.

On Sunday, January 15, mum and part-time photographer Sarah Fletcher saw the much-loved comedian and actor wandering across Crosby beach.

She decided against approaching as to "leave him in peace" without being hassled, but got in touch after his reflective tweet resonated with many across the region.

On Sunday, January, 15, Johnny tweeted: "So the tide came in and said 'Hey soft lad, give us all those worries over everything and nothing and I'll take em back out with me'.

"As ever, thank you Crosby. It's been a busy day for a big daft busy head but all grand now."

Viewed almost 3 million times, the tweet struck a chord with those who similarly see the beach as a place of reflection as well as the importance of taking some time out for your own well-being.

Johnny, whose real name is Michael Pennington, announced that he had been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) earlier this month, which he said "answers a lot of behavioural issues" he has had.

With Crosby beach described as Sarah's "go to place of reflection", she replied to the tweet with some of her favourite photographs of the beach, which she sells in frames, on canvas, and in mugs.

After buying a mug from Sarah, he later posted a picture back on the beach drinking a brew from his new favourite cup.

In his tweet to the part-time photographer, Johnny said: "Got them and one's already been on an outing Sarah! You're in bother though. I ordered one and you sent three!

"Way too generous of you but they've found a good home. When I can't get to my favourite thinking spot Crosby Beach can come to me with a cup of tea loving your work and pics. Cheers."

A big fan of Johnny's work and avid consumer of his Field of Dreams series, Sarah said: "It was so kind of him to take a photo with his mug!

"I thanked him on this tweet [and] I've had some lovely feedback since then, and gained some new followers on my photography pages!"

Taking pictures of Crosby beach and places around Liverpool, Sarah's photography hobby turned into a part-time business once people began enquiring if they could buy them from her.

With help from her artist daughter, Sarah has distributed countless orders since starting the passion project in 2016.

Sarah, 52, from Liverpool, added: "I have been snapping pics of Crosby beach for many years and I have found it a place of great reflection - it’s my go-to place!

"Happy times or sad times, this place is where you can forget everything for a while."
