POLICE officers have seized a BMW from a learner driver after he was caught driving without adequate registration.
On Thursday, January 26, Merseyside Police reported that a BMW driver was stopped by officers in Earlestown.
Following necessary checks, officers found that the man was in fact a learner driver and only had a provisional driving licence.
He also had no insurance for the 4x4 vehicle.

It is illegal to drive without insurance as well as driving on a provisional licence without a qualified driver in the car.
Drivers may receive a fine and penalty points if caught driving without a qualified driving licence.
As new drivers have a two-year 'probation' period where only six penalty points result in a ban (rather than 12), drivers without a full licence or insurance could be given six points in one go.
This would see new drivers facing a year's ban as soon as they pass their test, which may also mean they need to resit the test.
The white BMW xDrive was seized by officers while the man was reported for traffic offences and taken to Newton police station.
