FIREFIGHTERS rushed to extinguish a blaze as a car was engulfed in flames.
Crews attended Higher Parr Street, Fingerpost, at around 10.45am this morning, Tuesday, January 24.
The vehicle, understood to be a BMW, was found to be "well alight" when firefighters arrived and crews extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet.
Police also attended the scene and there was a road closure in the area as emergency services dealt with the fire.
No injuries were suffered, a fire and rescue service spokesman said.

A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews were called to a car fire on Higher Parr Street, St Helens this morning.
"Crews were alerted at 10.40am and on scene at 10.45am. One fire engine was in attendance.
"Firefighters arrived to find a car well alight and began to fight the fire wearing breathing apparatus, with a high-pressure hose reel.
"The crew rapidly extinguished the fire and made the vehicle safe before leaving the scene in the hands of Merseyside Police at 11.27am.
"No-one was injured in the incident."
A Merseyside Police spokesman added: "We received a report that a vehicle was on fire on Park Road at around 10.35am this morning (Tuesday, January 24).
"A lane was closed as the incident was dealt with and the vehicle was removed at around 11.50am."
