A RESTAURANT in Newton-le-Willows has introduced a 'Kids Eat Free' offer to help struggling families.

The Verona Bar and Kitchen on Newton High Street is offering children to eat for free every day until Sunday, February 12.

The family-owned restaurant made the decision to introduce the four-week offer as the current climate has put financial pressure on struggling households.

Hattie Ashton, general manager of Verona Kitchen and Balcony Bar, said: "As a family-owned establishment, we really value the time spent together as a family especially that spent around the dinner table conversing over good food, so we would like to do all that we can to provide opportunities to local families who may be struggling to continue to do this given the current economic crisis that the country is in.

"We have initially decided to offer Kids Eat Free every day up until the 12th of February in the hope that any families who may be watching what they spend especially after Christmas can still enjoy an evening out together or weekend lunch.

"Whether people visit us once over the four-week period or take us up on this offer every day we really don’t mind.

"The first week of the offer seems to have been received very positively and the atmosphere in the restaurant has been buzzing so we will be discussing what else we can do as a business going forward."

The offer is valid for children under 12 and with a full-paying adult meal.

The bar and kitchen's popular Thursday Date Night Deal, which includes two pasta dishes and a bottle of wine for £30, and its 20 percent off takeaway orders throughout January, are also available to make dining out more affordable.
