YOUTHS are reported to have been engaging in acts of anti-social behaviour in Rainhill.

On Sunday, January 8, Merseyside Police announced that they have received "continual reports" of youths causing anti-social behaviour near the Cookhouse pub on Warrington Road.

Announcing the reports online, officers asked: "Do you know where your children are tonight?"

The post continued: "We are continually receiving reports of youths causing anti-social behaviour near the Cookhouse on Warrington Road.

"We are currently liaising with schools and colleges to get the offenders identified."

Rainhill village has previously been reported as a hotspot of anti-social behaviour in St Helens.

Along with other areas such as St Helens town centre and Parr, incidents of fighting, egg throwing, cannabis use and weapons being carried were reported over the past year.

Dispersal zones have previously been enforced in the village in order to tackle the behaviour and restrict groups from gathering.

A previous statement from Merseyside Police said: "Please consider whether your child is one of those causing the issues and act responsibly.

“Kids will be kids and we accept that, but we are getting reports of fights, egg throwing, cannabis use and weapons being carried which will not be tolerated.

“Please make sure that it’s not your door that we knock on next. Thank you to those young people who do act responsibly, we know you are the majority and enjoy the positive contact we have with you.

“Keep safe and enjoy your evening. As ever, any non-urgent reports can be made via 101 and in an emergency please call 999.

“You can also report things via our online reporting on the Merseyside Police website.”
