Smith has been sharing his elation on social media, saying he would love to take the trophy to Saints during the upcoming rugby league season.
He shared a photograph of the trophy in his hotel bedroom, stating: "When that belongs to you".
He admitted to having spent much of the night looking at the famous trophy after his stunning victory, which saw him hit a nine-dart leg along the way.
A photo he shared has so far amassed tens of thousands of likes and reactions from his fans and followers on social media.
He also joked about the heaviness of the huge World Championship trophy.
