A DEVELOPER is celebrating after its planning application for up to 180 new homes was approved by St Helens Borough Council.

The new development, off Elton Head Road, to be called Sherdley Green, will provide a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes, after the local authority approved the proposals put forward by Taylor Wimpey North West.

The proposals include a combination of apartments, semi-detached and detached homes, which Taylor Wimpey says will provide for a wide range of home seekers including first-time buyers and families.
