A PRIMARY school is “absolutely thrilled” after being included in the Sunday Times School List.
The Sunday Times released its school guide of 2023 earlier this month, finding which UK schools are the highest-achieving.
The 30th edition of the Parent Power, The Sunday Times Schools Guide helps parents compare the performance of schools with others in the local area so they can see which are the best performing.
St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School, in Dentons Green, was placed 79th in the list.
The Rainford Road-based school, which was also 11th in the north west, said it believes the achievement is testament to “the hard work and dedication” of everyone involved.

Lyn Rawlinson, head teacher at St Thomas of Canterbury, said: “We would like to say that as a school, we were absolutely thrilled to find that we were placed 79th in the Times Schools List and 11th in the North West.
“This is an amazing achievement for the school and we are immensely proud of the children’s achievements."
She added: “We have excellent links with our families and wider community and believe that this result is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of all involved in the life of our school.”
