TWO men armed with a knife tried to commit a robbery at a newsagents but left empty-handed.
Police are appealing for information after reports that on Wednesday, November 16, at around 6.30pm, two men had entered a newsagents on Marshalls Cross Road near to Cleveland Street, armed with a knife.
They threatened a staff member and demanded cash.
The two suspects have then fled the shop empty-handed towards Cleveland Street.
The staff member was uninjured but was left shaken by the ordeal.
Both men were described as wearing dark clothing with their hoods covering their faces.
Since the incident, we have carried out a thorough investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Barbara Hebden said: “Although the staff member wasn’t injured, this was a very shocking ordeal to go through.
"To be threatened at your place of work will not be tolerated and although some weeks have passed since this incident, we are still determined to track these two suspects down.
“We are hoping that motorists who were in the area around this time may have dashcam footage that could help our investigation.
“If you have dashcam footage, CCTV or doorbell footage that captured these two males, please come forward and we will take action. Although the robbery took place at around 6.30pm, we believe they had visited the shop an hour earlier at around 5.20pm.”
