AN APPLICATION has been submitted seeking permission to convert a former nail bar into a grocery shop.
Proposals for the former Hollywood Nail Salon, on Claughton Street, in St Helens town centre, have been sent to the council.
The application, by Ahmed Faraj, seeks a certificate of lawfulness for the proposed change of use of the premises from a nail bar to a grocery store.

The application states the nail salon ceased trading in August 2022.
It adds the proposed grocery shop falls under the same planning class as its previous use but "the new occupier wants a lawful development certificate as proof before trading".
A standard consultation on the application lasts until Tuesday, December 27.
A determination deadline has been set for January 26, 2023.
