WEATHER warnings are in place again overnight, with temperatures set to plummet in St Helens and foggy conditions forecast for the morning.
There has been ice and snow in places across St Helens since wintry showers fell on Friday afternoon and through the early hours of Saturday.
Temperatures have only crept above freezing for much of the weekend and Met Office forecasts predict it will be extremely cold overnight.
According to the Met Office, the temperature will dip to -1C by 6pm on Sunday and -2C between 9pm and 5am on Monday.
Freezing fog is forecast to arrive at 2am and could hang around until 10am, making the morning commute to work and the school run hazardous.
St Helens remains under a yellow weather warning for ice and fog.
