ST HELENS singer Jacqui Abbott has pulled out of a sixth gig on her UK tour with Paul Heaton this month.

Paul and Jacqui's latest album 'N.K. Pop' went to Number One in October and they began their highly-anticipated arena tour with singer-songwriter Billy Bragg last month.

Fans were delighted to see the pair back on stage after their fabulous gig at the Totally Wicked Stadium this summer, but after just three gigs on the 'N.K. Pop' tour, Jacqui pulled out of shows in Bridlington, Glasgow, and Stockton following medical advice.

To give the Sutton singer the "best chance of recovering", she had to out of further shows in Portsmouth, Nottingham, as well as in Birmingham tonight (December 8).

Paul Heaton announced the news on Twitter, with a further update planned regarding their future shows.

Paul thanked fans for all their messages of support for Jacqui, and it is hoped that she can rejoin the tour as soon as possible; with a huge show planned at Manchester's AO Arena next Saturday (December 10).

Fans are able to claim for a refund if they preferred to have seen Jacqui perform live.

With England's quarter-final against France set to take place on Saturday evening, the band also stated they are looking at ways to accommodate this and show the football in the Manchester Arena.
