MEMBERS of a running group were full of adrenaline as they completed their Couch to 5K challenge.
Resolution Runners, a group based in Newton-le-Willows, sees locals attend weekly running sessions to train themselves to be able to run 5 kilometres without stopping.
The challenge, first set by the NHS to improve people’s fitness, takes determination, with the Winter nights an added challenge.
The group’s most recent participants, however, didn't let the cold and dark nights stop them from reaching their goal, as they completed the challenge last week.
To celebrate the milestone, the group held a graduation for participants.

Elly Roberts, one of the founders of the group and a running enthusiast, said: "Resolution Runners in Newton-le-Willows celebrated the end of another successful Couch to 5k course.
"Over a dozen runners completed a 5k run on Saturday morning in perfect weather.
"Our celebration 5k is now a tradition, with our existing runners, many of whom started with the Couch to 5k themselves, also run in support - there is also cake afterwards.
"Just 10 weeks ago, all these determined folk were just starting out on their running journey. They're a lovely supportive bunch who have worked together to keep each other going in some nasty weather and dark evenings."
The group’s ethos is to improve fitness and build motivation, however, members have also noticed the wonders it has on their mental health, including Laura Brook, who joined the group to become fitter and has seen improvements to her mental wellbeing.
Laura added: "Someone recently said to me 'they didn't realise they needed to improve their mental health until they started running'.
"Having completed the course I now totally get what they meant. I joined hoping to lose a bit of weight and whilst the weight hasn't instantly dropped off, as I dreamt, I feel so much better in myself.
"I met and have been supported by some amazing people - coaches, fellow newbies and seasoned runners; a fantastic group of people."
