A DRIVER escaped serious injury after their car was overturned in a crash, police say.

As the Star reported yesterday police, the fire and rescue service and police attended Chancery Lane, Parr, at around 3.45pm on Monday, November 28.

A Skoda Octavia was left overturned after a crash and a lamppost was also damaged. 

A police spokesman said the driver suffered a "slight injury".

He added that a negative breath test was provided and no arrests were made in connection with the incident.

The occupant was already out of the vehicle by the time emergency services arrived.

A Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service spokesman said: "MSFRS are in attendance at an incident on Chancery Lane, St Helens.

"Crews were alerted at 3.45pm and on scene at 3.53pm. Two fire engines attended.

"On arrival crews were met with one overturned vehicle.

"The occupant was out of the vehicle prior to fire service attendance and is being assessed by North West Ambulance Service paramedics.

"The police are also in attendance."

A Merseyside Police spokesman added: "A call came in at around 3.40pm, a Skoda Octavia was reportedly overturned on Chancery Lane."

Police said the road was closed until 5.10pm and there was damage to a lamppost which was dealt with.
