A PROPERTY linked to crime and disorder has been boarded up after police secured a closure order.

The address at 2 Grasmere Close, Haresfinch was the subject of police action after “reports of persistent anti-social, disorderly, offensive and criminal behaviour”.

Police confirmed a full closure order has been secured against the property under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Disorder Act 2014.

In a statement police said: “The order prohibits any person from entering the address until its expiry on February 28 2023 with the exception of a person authorised by Merseyside Police.

“It is an offence under section 86 of the anti-social behaviour crime and policing act 2014 to without reasonable excuse remain on or enter the premises in contravention of a closure order or obstruct an authorised person either entering the premises or doing anything necessary to secure the premises against entry.

“A person who commits an offence under Section 86 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, is liable to up to 6 months imprisonment or a fine of up to £5000 (or both).  

“St Helens Community Policing team continue to take persistent nuisance anti-social behaviour seriously and will utilise all, if required, the legislation at our disposal to do so.”
