A MUM-OF-ONE with breast cancer is using her experience to help others and has designed special hoodies with zips to allow chemotherapy patients to stay warm during treatment.

Sandra Glynn from Sutton was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago. She has treatment and it went, however it is now back in her right breast and her liver.

However, the 61-year-old is not letting anything hold her back and after realising for herself how cold it can be for patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment, she got in touch with a Liverpool based clothing printing firm to design hoodies with zips going up the arms, meaning they can zip up around the PICC line administering the drug.

The hoodies, which she’s dubbed ‘Zoodies’ have a unique design, with her Teddy Designs logo on, which she chose due to a nickname her husband gave her.

The 61-year-old got all dolled up to drop them off at the Lilac Centre last week, saying “you just have to live each moment.”

She said: “When this happened to me and I realised it spread I just decided not to focus on it.

“My daughter is studying for her PHD and my focus now is to see her graduate, other than that you just have to live each moment and help anyone you can when you can.”

Sandra has regularly run at Sefton Park since her initial diagnosis, collecting money for charities and recently raised funds to produce more of the Zoodies for other cancer patients in need.

She added: “When you are having treatment you get cold anyway, but if you wear a cold cap it’s even more so. So at least with these Zoodies people can be as comfy as possible and they were made up when I went in to drop them off the other day.

“When you are just sat there, getting something for free and a little visit can cheer you right up, so I’m glad I could do that for them.”
