A MAN has been arrested in St Helens town centre on suspicion of multiple offences including common assault.
A 59-year-old man from Huyton was arrested for multiple offences in St Helens town centre yesterday, Thursday, November 24.
Around 4pm, police received a report that a man had attempted to punch another man following an altercation in the town centre.
Officers on foot patrol in the town centre arrested the man on suspicion of common assault and begging.
He was also further arrested on suspicion of committing a public order offence on Wednesday, November 23.
He has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
