New Argentinian steak restaurant Gaucho opens in Merseyside

The award-winning Argentina-inspired Gaucho officially opened its doors on Water Street in Liverpool city centre today, Wednesday, November 23.

The new Merseyside location is the next UK city to join branches in London, Manchester, and Leeds.

The company invested a seven-figure sum in renovating the Grade ll listed building based at Number Seven Water Street which has been closed and unused since 2015.

Guests can now enjoy the architecture of the former Bank of Liverpool building whilst enjoying the carbon-neutral beef and an a la carte menu curated by Culinary Director Mike Reid which features a whole range of contemporary Latin American dishes.

As part of the new opening, Gaucho has chosen Alder Hey Children’s Hospital as their chosen charity to support in the city. The team at Gaucho has pledged to donate at least £10,000 to fully fit two parents’ rooms in the hospital’s new neonatal unit.

Helen Hughes, community and events manager at Alder Hey, said: “Alder Hey is delighted to be Gaucho's chosen charity for the launch of their fabulous Liverpool restaurant.

“Their generous donation will help towards funding equipment for the new surgical neonatal unit at Alder Hey, enabling parents and their babies to spend those first precious moments together.”

The restaurant will also be launching Gaucho Lates from Thursday,  November 24 just in time for the Christmas party season. Gaucho Lates will bring the party and the culture of modern Argentina to Liverpool every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night with DJ’s, entertainment and live music. With a bar menu of light bites available until 12.30pm
