Meanwhile, Rainford High took the Most Inspirational Secondary School gong.
Also, Wargrave House School and College won the Most Inspirational 16-18 Education Provider category.
A look at the St Helens winners
- Parish CE Primary School, based on Charles Street, was honoured with the Most Inspirational Primary School award, sponsored by Angel Solutions.
The Educate Awards said the school habitually supports schools from across the region, providing guidance and inspiring learning.
Its ‘Rainbow Curriculum’ was constructed to ensure that students are successful in life and learning, no matter their starting points, symbolising hope from a Christian perspective. The curriculum sets high expectations and includes ‘Pots of Gold’ experiences which allows each child to have two, fully funded, memorable visits each year.
- Rainford High won Most Inspirational Secondary School, sponsored by Evaluate-Ed.
Judges said the school never stops developing and improving its offer for every child and the community it serves. This year, the school has continued to develop and improve following the pandemic.
Its ethos of Everyone Matters, Everyone Helps and Everyone Succeeds supports its drive to be the best school it can be. This means delivering a breadth of offer to support young people to be the best they can be.
Rainford also came runners up in the SEND Provision category and for Outstanding Commitment to Sport in Secondary School.
- Wargrave House School and College took home Most Inspirational 16-18 Education Provider, sponsored by LJMU.
The Educate Awards said Wargrave House School and College’s LEAP autism specialist post 16 provision is proud to offer an innovative curriculum that goes beyond the classroom. LEAP students at the college have access to pathways that develop, engage and are relevant to individual needs and aspirations.
Most of the timetable takes place off site in the community. Students have even opened their own sustainable upcycling/recycling shop, online eBay shop and community market garden.
Meanwhile, Cowley International College finished Runners-up in the Innovative & Creative Literacy category.
Mark Costello, at the Launchpad Centre KS4, in St Helens, came runner-up for the School Support Star of the Year award.
What are the Educate Awards?
Now in its 11th year, the Educate Awards showcases the hard work and creativity that takes place in the education sector, from STEM and performing arts to sport and literacy.
The awards also recognise the individuals who bring schools and colleges to life, from inspiring teachers and dedicated support staff to efficient business managers and strategic leadership teams.
In partnership with Copyrite Systems and Ricoh, the Educate Awards took place at the Liverpool Cathedral and welcomed more than 600 guests. The evening was hosted by broadcaster, Simon ‘Rossie’ Ross.
Alongside the awards ceremony was a delicious three course gala dinner and glittering entertainment from schools around the region.
'Such an amazing achievement for St Helens'
Kim O’Brien, founder of the Educate Awards, said: “Congratulations to the St Helens schools and colleges that won at this year’s Educate Awards! This is such an amazing achievement for the St Helens borough.
“A big well done to the runners up and finalists too. Results this year were incredibly close, and judges had a difficult time deciding not only the shortlist but also overall the winners.
Kim added: “The Educate Awards team is proud to champion the innovation, diversity and dedication that is taking place in educational establishments around the region. Entries will open again in February 2023 and we encourage all types of schools and colleges to submit as many entries as they like, for free.”
