A LOCAL singer has shared her excitement of featuring on a Christmas single and performing at the Christmas light switch on for the first time.
Lauren Thompson from Sutton will be singing at St Helens Christmas light switch on this weekend; marking her debut performance at the event.
After being selected to be featured on a new Christmas music release, she worked with the producer donkerbot on two original songs at the St Helens based Elusive Country Club recording studios.
The learning support assistant, who’s already caught the "Christmas bug", is looking forward to sharing her music with the town.
Lauren said: "Being chosen to be featured in a Christmas music release is really exciting; just being able to get into a recording studio and work on a project is the best feeling.
"I absolutely can't wait to perform at the St Helens light switch on this year. This year is my very first appearance; I've already got the Christmas bug and it's another opportunity to make people feel good and give them something to look forward to.

"There is going to be a music video coming out for the songs shortly - I would expect to see shots from the switch on and a showcase of the decorations we have out in our town.
"We want to show St Helens off and hopefully inspire other locals to engage in projects like this."
The 25-year-old fell in love with singing from a young age after being inspired by a production of the Lion King in London.
She later studied Musical Theatre at The Arden School of Theatre in Manchester before her dream career took her abroad.

Lauren added: "Once I graduated, I moved out to Crete in Greece to take my first professional job as lead singer at Agapi Beach Resort.
"After Covid hit, I then had more responsibilities in the UK to take care of and so now I take all the work I can get singing local gigs and recording opportunities."
Both songs, the single Christmas To Remember and its B-side Dance Under The Mistletoe, the songs are available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music, with links found at https://donkerbot.neocities.org/.
