A WEDDING photographer who captures the special moments of couples' big days has won a prestigious regional award.
Andy Griffiths, from Rainford, has previously won the coveted title of the North West winner of The Wedding Industry awards, but is "made up" to have won it again meaning he’s now a finalist for the national prize.
The prize is voted for by couples and decided on by a judging panel, making it even more special for dad-of-one Andy.
The 38-year-old said: “I got nominated by customers who really like my work and that’s what makes it so much more special.
“I think what sets me out different from the rest is I only dedicate a short period of time for natural group pictures then I just capture natural moments from people’s big day and my customers have really enjoyed that.
“Losing my dad, I’m particularly conscious on capturing the natural moments with loved ones, because it’s amazing to look back on those memories when people aren’t around any more, and the funny moments too that make every big day unique.
“To be named North West Wedding Photographer of the Year is incredible, I won it last year as well and now for 2023 so it’s honestly such an honour.
“I never take for granted the trust people put in me to capture their big day, I think so many people don’t realise what a privilege it is.
“I’d urge anyone looking to get into wedding photography to not just jump into it. Get training, do workshops and mentoring first, because there is no second chance on someone’s big day.”
The final of the Wedding Photographer of the Year will take place on January 25 in London.
