A ST HELENS based veteran support group will be driving an ambulance full of medical supplies into Ukraine next month.
No Duff, a St Helens-based support network for veterans and emergency service workers, has been collecting donations of medical supplies since the Russian invasion began earlier this year.
Attempting to get supplies to areas that need them the most, No Duff founder Dean Owen travelled to Lviv in April to direct medical donations to hospitals and refugee camps, while also assisting with civilian casualties and evacuations.

No Duff, which was recently recognised with a prestigious Armed Forces Covenant Employer Gold Award, has been leading a support network to help local Ukrainian refugees settle in the community back in St Helens.
They have also formed a partnership with a Veteran's Hub inside Kyiv.
Continuing their support as the war in Ukraine rambles on, No Duff has been fundraising to ensure their ambulance has enough fuel and supplies to reach the war-torn country.
Aiming to set off later in mid December, the group will use information from the Ukrainian veterans to drive the ambulance to a designated hospital and deliver essential supplies of medical aid.
No Duff founder, Dean Owen, said: "The ambulance has been worked on by many organisations across the borough and Liverpool City Region.
"It was kindly donated by Rachel Stott from Healthier South Wirral, transported by North West Recovery, and worked on by No Duff volunteers, St Helens-based Vinylwise, and Ukrainian refugees.
"We are asking local business to get on board and support the project by sponsoring us, and their business logo will be placed on the ambulance.
"I know that the ambulance will be going to the front lines and it is desperately needed; we have a number of taskings whilst there so our journey will be documented along the way."
