THERE has been traffic delays on the M6 in the area this morning (THursday).
This is due to a car which had broken down near to Haydock Island, between junctions 23 and 22 southbound.
A lane was closed due to the incident. It has since been reopened.

Live traffic tracker Inrix said: "Queueing traffic due to earlier broken down Car on M6 Southbound from J23 A580 East Lancashire Road (Haydock) to J22 A49 Winwick Link Road (Newton Le Willows).
"Congestion to J25 (Bryn). All lanes have been re-opened. Lane one (Of three) was closed."
