THERE has been six miles of traffic congestion on the M6 this morning near Haydock Island due to disruption caused by a broken down lorry.
A lane was closed on the M6 southbound between Junction 23 and Junction 22 due to the broken down lorry.

Recovery was arranged and the vehicle has now been recovered.

National Highways North West said shortly before 7.30am: "All lanes have re-opened on the #M6 southbound in #GreaterManchester between J23 (#HaydockInterchage) and J22 (#Winwick).
