A COMMUNITY centre is getting ready to organise its annual Christmas project.
Newton Community Centre on Park Road South, Newton-le-Willows, is set to run its third Community Santa Project in partnership with The Victoria Pub, Wilkos, and Newton and Earlestown Community Group.
The project will see staff and volunteers at the centre put together hampers filled with donations made by the public, with festive goodies including Christmas pudding, tinned ham and veg, selection boxes, and unwrapped new gifts.

Lisa Hulme, centre manager, says: "Our Community Santa is a perfect example of how our community help each other with those who are able to donate items helping those who may struggle a little.
"This project has always been needed, but the cost of living crisis means we expect to be helping even more families this year.
"If you are able to donate, then please do – every little helps."
Locals will be able to make a donation from tomorrow.
