THERE are traffic queues of three and a half miles on the M6 after a crash between two lorries near to Haydock Island.
The M6 southbound between Junction 23 (Haydock) and Junction 22 (Winwick), has two lanes closed due to the collision.

There is currently approximately three and a half miles of congestion on approach, causing delays of 30 minutes above usual journey times, say National Highways North West.
Live traffic tracker Inrix says: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident, two lorries involved on M6 Southbound from J23 A580 East Lancashire Road (Haydock) to J21A M62 J10 (Croft Interchange)."
