A POLICE helicopter was called on Sunday night as officers stopped a vehicle.
Residents in Rainhill reported seeing a large police presence around the area of Warrington Road and a force helicopter.
It is believed they were called following an incident at Rainhill Stoops.
Residents took to social media regarding the police presence in the village.
One reported being stopped and searched by officers who were in attendance.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman confirmed their attendance was in relation to an incident involving "driving offences".
She said: "At around 10.40pm last night, Sunday, October, 23, officers stopped a vehicle on Warrington Road, Rainhill for driving offences.
"An investigation is ongoing."
Further details of the investigation have not yet been disclosed.
