A Manchester hotel has been named among the best new hotels in Britain, according to a list by The Guardian.
The Alan in Manchester was one of the 10 best listed by the newspaper.
In describing the hotel, The Guardian said: “Housed in a revamped, six-storey warehouse in the heart of the city, the Alan opened its doors in May, bringing a Shoreditch vibe to the city. A huge, upper-ground floor space houses the bar, restaurant and lobby – with DJ decks replacing the usual reception desk.
“Rooms have bare plaster walls, exposed ducting and angular lighting and furniture, with seriously comfortable beds. All guests are offered a free two-hour guided walking tour of the city.”
On its website, it states: “A design led, creatively charged, unique 6-storey hotel in the centre of Manchester. 137 rooms.
“Open-plan kitchen, bar, and restaurant. Meeting and event space.”
