A MAN has been sentenced after crashing his car into a wall in Haydock earlier this year.
At around 3.10am on Saturday, January 15, police were alerted to reports of a car colliding with a wall on Taylor Road, Haydock.
A witness to the crash said that after the incident, the man parked his car on the street and walked off with his partner.
Darren Tipton, of Rose Avenue, Haydock, was subsequently detained by police and charged on suspicion of drink driving.
He was found guilty at a hearing at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, September 7 of drink driving and failing to stop after an accident.
At his sentencing hearing on Friday, October 14, Tipton, 40, was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
The 39-year-old also received a financial penalty amounting to £545 and is subject to a Community Order.
