A MAN charged with murder and causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving after a crash in Blackbrook will issue pleas to the charges in the new year.

Brandon Glover, 24, of Pasture Close, Clock Face, St Helens, who is also charged with GBH and attempted GBH, first appeared before Wirral Magistrates' Court on Thursday, October 6.

The charges relate to an incident at the junction of Park Road and Boardmans Lane in Blackbrook at around 12.30am on Tuesday, October 4.

Harley Lea, 17, died in the crash which involved a car and two motorbikes.

In Thursday's hearing, the case was sent to Liverpool Crown Court.

Glover was remanded into custody and is due to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the higher court on January 6, 2023.

A possible trial date has been earmarked for March 13 next year.

Meanwhile, Glover appeared today, Monday, October 10, for a bail hearing at Liverpool Crown Court.

Bail was refused and the 24-year-old was remanded back into custody. 

A 19-year-old man who was arrested last week in the investigation has been released with no further action to be taken.
