A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and manual asphyxiation by strangulation or suffocation.
Since the news of her passing, tributes flooded in for the 49-year-old across social media.
Following his guilty pleas, Massey will return to Liverpool Crown Court to be sentenced at a later date; where the prosecution and defence will present details surrounding the incidents.
In the meantime, Massey will remain in custody.
Speaking to Massey, Judge Cummings said: "As you have pleaded guilty to all charges, the next stage of your court process will be sentencing.
"Because of your guilty pleas, you will be entitled to some level of reduction in sentencing.
"The level of that reduction will be determined at your sentencing date."
Massey will be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court, on Thursday, November 10.
