A teenage cyclist was taken to hospital with a head injury following a collision in St Helens this evening (Sunday, October 9).
The incident happened between Martindale Road and Birchley Road, Moss Bank between 5pm and 6pm.
The collision involved a Fiat Punto and 15-year-old male cyclist. He was taken to hospital with a head injury, which was assessed.
The road was closed for around three hours, while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Roads were closed both ways and motorists diverted.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson told St Helens Star: "This was a collision involving a Fiat Punto and a male cyclist (aged 15), around 5.25pm.
"He was taken to hospital with a head injury, which was assessed and road reopened around 8.20pm so appears not too serious."
