A SALON also supporting the wellbeing of customers is up for six awards.
Staff of Self Love Salon, based in Baldwin Street, are heading to London in November to possibly bag an award in six different categories.
The salon is a two-time winner of a sustainability award with Claire Jones, owner of the business, the Best Colourist winner last year.
This year, the salon and its staff are up for Best Newcomer, Best Bridal Stylist, Best Colourist, Sustainability, Best Customer Experience, and Best Salon at the Merseyside regionals.
Claire said: "I opened my business four years ago and my business is to support the wellbeing as well, so we support inner beauty as much as outer beauty.
"We’re a hair salon but we also have other treatments such as beauty treatments, massages, and therapeutic treatments. The whole purpose of the salon is to encourage people to feel better not just look better.
"The biggest achievement will be my junior stylist winning as it would be the biggest compliment in the world as she’s been through a lot; I’m so proud of her.
"It’s just the recognition of the effort that I’m trying to make; I want to make changes to our industry, and I want to help younger stylists move forward and know the people in the industry to see the importance of helping people to take care of the inside as well as the outside."
The salon actively promotes sustainability, with their efforts recognised after bagging an award last year.
Self Love Salon recycles its materials when possible, including hair and foil and has installed eco taps to reduce water wastage.
Claire mentioned this was an important attribute to the salon.
40-year-old added: "The reason we support sustainability is because sustainability and wellbeing go hand in hand as nature provides a lot of wellbeing elements that will help us and it’s our part to pay it back."
The awards ceremony takes place on Sunday, November 13 with a panel deciding the winners.
