SAINTS packman Morgan Knowles will miss Saturday's Grand Final unless the club can successfully appeal the Grade B dangerous contact charge.
The England loose forward has picked up a two match penalty notice for the first half incident in which he pulled Chris Atkin's arm up his back to slow the play the ball down.
The Match Review Panel noted: "Law 15.1 (i). Dangerous Contact - Defender uses any part of their body forcefully to twist, bend or otherwise apply pressure to the limb or limbs of an opposing player in a way that involves an unacceptable risk of injury to that player. Grade B."
There will, however, be relief in some quarters that stand off Jack Welsby has not been banned despite picking up a Grade A high tackle on Atkin.
It was a straight on tackle that went unpunished on the day.
Welsby has been handed a 0-Match penalty notice. His previous record was taken into consideration on this, hence no ban in this instance.
The MRP noted: "Law 15.1 (b), High tackle – careless – ball carrier dips, Grade A."
James Roby has received a caution, but is free to play at Old Trafford.
Saints are appealing Knowles' suspension and that will be heard as normal tomorrow.
