A PROPERTY on Bridge Street has been advertised for let following the closure of St Helens art shop Rennies, which has delivered another blow for the town centre.
Readers have been saddened to hear about the closure of the branch which has been part of the town centre landscape for many years.
The property is now listed To Let by retail leisure investment firm Ockleston Bailey.
It is understood the shop's closure is a consequence of the Liverpool store also shutting.
Announcing the St Helensclosure via Facebook, Rennies said: “We would like to thank you all for your kind messages regarding the closure of Rennies Arts & Crafts Ltd, many have asked about our St Helens store and our online business, these will also be permanently closed tomorrow (27th August 2022), once again we would like to thank all of our customers for their support over the last 42 years, you will be missed.”
Town centre regeneration bosses have been promoting the vacant property along the street which includes independent businesses such as the St Helens Book Stop and Vigour.
