A MAN has been hit with a court bill of more than £400 after driving a quadbike and damaging grass in a Winsford park.
Mitchell Stening, of Chiltern Way in Winsford, appeared in Chester Magistrates’ Court on September 2 where he pleaded guilty to criminal damage in Mount Pleasant Park.
On May 7, the 36-year-old caused damage in the Cheshire West and Chester Council-owned park to the value of £200.
He had been driving a quadbike which was ‘chewing up the grass’.
Magistrates fined him £80 for the offence and he will also need to pay £200 in compensation.
Taking Stening’s guilty plea into account, magistrates also ordered him to pay £120 in court costs as part of the sentence, along with a £34 surcharge.
