A BAR in Newton-le-Willows is hosting an event to celebrate its eighth birthday.
The Firkin on Newton High Street has announced it will host another of its brewery takeovers on the anniversary of its opening.
The bar, specialising in independent ales, will have refreshments from Rivington Brewery Company on tap.
The choice of brewery was no coincidence, as Phil Cunliffe, owner of The Firkin, explains the reason behind it.
Phil said: “We are delighted to reach our eighth year, even with all the ups and downs over recent years.
“We have always been overwhelmed by our loyal customers support and we look forward to what the future holds.
“We have teamed up with Rivington brewing company to put on a night of fantastic night of awesome local beer.
“Rivington are a brewery who have supported us pretty much since the start, so it felt only right to start our birthday celebrations with them.”
The takeover will take place on the bar’s anniversary October 20.
The bar is widely known in the community for its brewery takeovers, including its most recent Verdant Brewery takeover in July.
