A MAN was arrested after a machete was reportedly swung at another man in a disturbance in St Helens town centre.
Police attended an incident on North John Street at around 11.30pm on Saturday night, August 27.
Police say the weapon (pictured) was "swung towards" another man by an offender.
A man was detained by officers.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon; affray and causing intentional harassment, alarm and distress.
Police said: "The weapon was recovered and thankfully nobody was injured.
"The male is currently in custody and awaiting interview."
