A PROMINENT arcade and cafe building in St Helens has been placed on the market.

The Cafe & Amusements premises, on the corner of Duke Street and Crab Street, has been listed on property website Rightmove.

The building is up for an asking price of £199,950.

The listing says the town centre building has "untapped potential" and is "ideal for conversion into a bar" with "plenty of passing trade".

A description on Rightmove reads: "A rare and wonderful opportunity has come to market by way of this commercial building in the heart of St Helens Town Centre.

"This building is located on the bustling corner of Duke Street and Crab Street, and has so, so much untapped potential.

"The business is still fully operational, it has been a popular amusement arcade and cafe ran passionately by the same owner for many years. The ground floor of the building has the cafe and dining area upon entrance, with a fully operational kitchen and fixed seating and tables.

"The space continues and is filled with a range of fruit machines and gaming terminals, along with a pool table".

It adds: "The floor space on offer lends itself perfectly for its current use, but the potential to be a shop, restaurant or a wonderful cocktail bar is what it is crying out for.

"Duke Street is highly popular for its nightlife, and this provides THE perfect chance for a spacious venue, but in the most visible of spots. There is also potential to convert upstairs, subject to relevant permissions.

"The upstairs of the building is not used for any purpose and would make an ideal conversion into an apartment, possibly two.
