DRIVERS on the M62 are being warned of disruption when joining the M60 this afternoon, Thursday.
Access to the M60 from junction 12 of the eastbound M62 towards Manchester has been affected by a crash which saw a lorry leave the carriageway and come to rest in a ditch.
The link road is likely to be closed for several hours for assessment and vehicle recovery.
The incident, at Eccles Interchange – where the M62 meets junction 12 of the M60 and junction one of the M602 – happened at around midday.
Although both link roads from the eastbound M62 onto the clockwise and anti-clockwise M60 are currently closed, drivers can still join the M60 from the westbound M602, which they can reach by leaving the eastbound M602 at junction two.
Drivers are advised the M602 around junction two and the westbound link roads onto the M60 are likely to be extremely busy throughout the afternoon.
Anyone wishing to avoid likely congestion should plan alternative routes or access to the M60 or delay their journeys.
