RESIDENTS in an area near to the borough's boundary are being reminded to keep their cars, doors and sheds locked at night.
This follows reports of suspicious activity to Cheshire Police in the Burtonwood and Winwick areas over recent days.
Officers say villagers should keep vehicle doors locked, remove valuables from sight, lock building doors and utilise exterior lights where appropriate.
Police are also urging residents to continue to report any suspicious behaviour.

In an update, the force’s Burtonwood and Winwick Police team said: “We have had a few reports over the past week or so of suspicious activity of an evening and night-time.
“It really is worth carrying out the 9pm routine and checking cars, doors and outbuildings are locked before you go to bed
“Also, if you see any suspicious activity, please report on 101.”
