A REUNION is being held for those who left the former Notre Dame Girls' School 50 years ago.
The class of 1972 from Notre Dame High School for Girls, on Mill Brow, is celebrating the 50-year (golden) anniversary of their graduation from the school this year.
To mark the event a reunion will take place on the evening of Saturday, September 24, at Grange Park Golf Club, on Prescot Road.
Pupils from that year group include Angela Kennedy, Margaret Redmond and Liz Rogan who are involved in getting people together for this reunion.
Former pupil, Angela Galloway (nee Kennedy) has appealed to the Star for help getting this message out.
“We’ve been in contact with as many girls from our year group as possible but there are some we haven’t been able to trace.
"If any of your readers know of someone who graduated from Notre Dame High School sixth form in 1972 or who started with that year group in 1965 or who subsequently joined that year group, please check that they are aware of the reunion.

"It would be fantastic to see as many former school friends as possible at this significant event.

"I would be interested to hear from anyone in the year group, even if you can’t attend the reunion.”
Margaret added: "We had a reunion after 30 years and 40, and this is the third one.
"It is just really special and we have been getting together more as the years have passed.
"It is really good to catch up and share your memories, and of teachers as well, we had some fantastic teachers.
"We shared a really good education at the school, and the school very much encouraged us and developed our responsibility to each other and as well to ourselves.
"It is important to remember, to meet up and to share things."
Tickets for the reunion are £20 per person and this includes a drinks reception and hot buffet. Attendees are welcome to bring a guest.
The Notre Dame High School for Girls subsequently merged with West Park Grammar school to form De La Salle at Mill Brow in 1987.
