REMINISCE Festival will once again take place in Sherdley Park this September.

Starting as a small nostalgic music festival in 2014, Reminisce has grown to facilitate crowds of 19,000.

Despite the popularity of the annual festival, last year's event was marred by controversy, with issues over long queues, internet access, and security concerns.

These concerns were put to Reminisce organisers at a St Helens Council Sub-Committee meeting last month.

A resident local to Sherdley Park also raised concerns over "overcrowding" and issues with security staff.

Organisers Gary Laycock and Tim Herring addressed each of the main issues in the meeting, stating the steps they are taking to improve what went wrong and ensure the calamity does not happen again.

The pair also stated that they "take everything that goes wrong very personally" and will comply with all of the relevant guidance to make Reminisce the "best it can be".

Considering all of the relevant information, in particular the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, and the prevention of public nuisance, the Sub-Committee decided to grant the festival its licence to take place again this year

Reminisce will take place at Sherdley Park on Saturday, September 10. Tickets can be bought here.
