A MAN has been charged with rape and multiple sexual offences following a report on Friday, August 5.
Jack Williams, of Wokefield Way, Eccleston has been charged with rape, two counts of assault by penetration, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, sexual assault by touching, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and criminal damage.
The 23-year-old was remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today (Monday, August 8) where he was further remanded to appear at Liverpool Crown Court at a later date.
Detective Inspector Laura Lamping said: “We take every report of rape and sexual assault extremely seriously and have dedicated officers in Protecting Vulnerable People Units who are specially trained to thoroughly investigate allegations and make sure those reporting them are properly supported.
"I would like to take this opportunity to reassure anyone who has suffered a sexual offence that if you can find the courage to come forward and speak to us, we will deal with you sensitively and make sure that reports are properly and thoroughly investigated."
