THE lake at Taylor Park has been closed due to algae in the water.
St Helens Council has confirmed the closure is in place.
Visitors are urged to keep clear of the water and not to allow their pets to drink from the lake.

Signage has been put in place around the lake, a council spokesman said.
This states: "Due to blue green algae keep clear of the water. Avoid contact with any algal scum.
"Do not allow your pets to enter or drink the water.
"No swimming at any time or water activity."
