A GROUP of people have been hospitalised after a car crashed into them during a hit and run in St Helens.
At around 9.30pm, on Friday, July 8, police were called to reports of a woman who had been found lying in North Road.
Officers spoke to witnesses at the scene, and it is believed that before the incident a fight had broken out involving a group of people.

During the disturbance, a Ford Fiesta is reported to have crashed into a number of people.
The vehicle is then believed to have left the scene and was found abandoned a short distance away.
A woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s were both taken to hospital with head injuries and a woman in her 40s was taken to hospital with back and facial injuries.
None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
A 20-year-old woman, a 38-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man have all been arrested on suspicion of affray.
An investigation into the incident is underway and enquiries remain ongoing.
Detective Inspector Graeme Osborne said: “Our enquiries are at the early stages as we seek to establish what took place last night. We are carrying out house-to-house, CCTV and witness enquiries and would urge anyone who could assist with our investigation contact us.
